What is lifestyle newborn photo session?

Updated: Aug 5, 2023

Lifestyle newborn photography takes place at your home, always feeling more natural and intimate than studio sessions, focussing on the connection between you and a new baby; photographing everything from the excitement of older siblings and furry friends with baby to a quiet minute of mom and baby. I capture what daily life looks like as you cuddle your new bundle of joy. These types of sessions allow for tiny details in the nursery to be recorded and allows pets and siblings to be involved.

When is the best time for lifestyled newborn photo session?

Start planning your session when your baby is between two and four weeks old. This still allows me to capture those adorable first memories of your new baby.

What do you wear to a lifestyle photoshoot?

Stay with softer pastel colors, jewel tones, or neutrals. Some of the most flattering colors are blush, gray, light blues and greens, and creams. These colors will result in a more light and airy look to your images!

What is the difference between lifestyle and studio newborn photos?

Lifestyle photographers focused on capturing interaction between the baby and the members of the family. The only props are what's in hands, and there are no backdrops or props. Session takes up to 1- 2 hours.

The ideal age for a studio newborn photography is 5-14 days old; Studio photography focuses on posing and detailed shots and can take up to 4 hours.
